The association "Thru Education We Build Bosnia and Herzegovina" is non - government, unprofitable, multiethnic association with the main aim - children war victims being taken care of. There are 1.400 orphans in Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina and 23.000 children with one parent missing, many war disabled children, poor and mistreated children, a lot of talented and promising children and students who are primarily tasks of our association. Finding means of help and moral and material support, the association tries to facilitate everyday living and help them finish school and college and become independent members of our society.

From the very beginnings, in early 1994 year, up today, the association assisted and backed more than 30.000 children in various ways: scholarships, short-termed and long-termed material support, money support to those most needed, organized summer holidays in Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Austria and Croatia. Recently the association gave more than 10.000 scholarships in 350.000 EUR. We are proud to say that more than hundred scholars, high school students and college students, during the last three years successfully finished schools and colleges.

The association "Thru Education We Build Bosnia and Herzegovina" partly helped in furnishing several schools in Bihac, Sarajevo, Tuzla, and Zenica and elsewhere the circumstances for children to attend school are declined.

The association won many national and international awards for the humanitarian and humanistic activities, among tram are: PRIX DE LESPOIR, la Communaute Internationale Bahai-Paris and more than 70 certificates ratifying the successful work of the association.

We gained success thanks to government and non-government organizations as well as individuals from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Europe and USA, thanks to unselfish and voluntary work of the association members and voluntarily contribution of more than 700 Sarajevo citizens. The part of the contribution for children and youth we provided by organizing concerts and other manifestations and developing publishing activities.
For those purposes we printed and sold the following books: "Drug, Myth, Hell, Reality", "Children Sexual Harassment", "Children without Parents", many books for children, CD-s and cassette "To Sarajevo Pop Rock School with Love", calendar for 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, and 2002 year, and thus provided over 1.500 scholarships.

"The children war victims - our permanent care" is the main slogan for all our up-to-date and future activities. As a part of this long-termed mission we offer our own programs and also participate in national and international programs for education. We also strengthen physical and psychological health and development of children and youth. We have the highest level of professional knowledge and experience which enable us to hold and promote complex humanitarian and other projects.
"Thru Education We Build Bosnia and Herzegovina" is the most reliable partner for we are deeply motivated by humanistic aims and ideas.

We took part in "Human Development in Bosnia and Herzegovina-Youth in 2000" project, USAID DEMNET "Institutional Development of Association" project, and Heinrich Boll Fondation project "The Right for Qualitative Education", "The Land of Peace and Friendship" project, and with organization "The Bosnia Orphans" from Luxemburg. We are constantly involved in scholarship projects, purchase of school materials and sport equipment and we provide summer and winter holidays for children without parents.

Although six years passed since the most brutal war had been finished when 250.000 people were killed or missing, 16.000 children among them, still our mission is not completed. The war brought to out attention many social, health and psychological problems which we never faced before. Unfortunately, our Government is not in position to find an adequate solutions for the most impressive war victims –children. In Sarajevo there are about 5.400 children without one parent and 410 children missing both parents. There are many homeless children, exiled and displaced persons who need help. The organization "Thru Education We Build Bosnia and Herzegovina" and many alike organizations are irreplaceable and precious.

The education is one of the most crucial questions concerning the development of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and children are its future. We believe in Bosnia and Herzegovina and its youth. We are ordinary citizens from Sarajevo, professors, journalists, engineers, workers, economists, artists, pensioners…
